Kids Corner

Help them lead the way.

The American Optometric Association (AOA) recommends that children receive their first comprehensive eye exam between 6-12 months of age and then again between 3-5 years of age. If your child is school-aged, they should receive annual eye exams. At Lumino Vision, we offer comprehensive children’s eye exams. We have extensive experience working with children, from as little as 6 months on up to teenagers.

It’s not uncommon to see Dr. Wood on the floor working with a young child, getting at their level to get the best eye exam possible.

We’ll find the right prescription and eyewear for your kids. We have dozens of stylish frames, in fun colors, and durable builds that your kids will want to wear.

Most of our frames come with a two year warranty. If they pop a lens, or need them replaced, you can come back and we’ll take care of it.

The AOA has some great videos and content on the importance of early childhood comprehensive eye exams. Don’t fall for the false sense of security a school vision screening gives you. School screenings are not are suitable replacement for comprehensive eye exams.
