Comprehensive Eye Exams

Optometrists are highly trained healthcare professionals. The role of an eye doctor is to examine, diagnose, treat, and manage diseases and disorders of the eye. Many diseases and conditions can first be seen in and around the eye. Some examples of these include diabetes, high blood pressure, hyperthyroidism, high cholesterol, connective tissue disorders, anemia, infectious diseases, cancer, and congenital conditions. As part of our exams, we look for signs of these and other anomalies. Dr. Jennifer Wood provides an in-depth examination of both your vision and eye health. We treat patients of all ages, with a special emphasis on children and the elderly.

We understand the need for more time during an exam. Because of this, we provide more time per eye exam visit compared to other clinics. As Direct Eye Care providers, we have the ability to perform up to a 60 minute exam, with up to 90 minutes for low vision. We can ensure that there is enough time to perform all testing, discuss your results, and answer your questions. Additionally, the entire eye exam is spent directly with the doctor instead of with technicians. We can do this because we are not bound to the restrictions imposed by vision insurance companies.
